KSC Komponent®
Additive for Non-Shrink and Low-Shrinkage Concrete
When incorporated into a concrete mix design, KSC Komponent® can reduce or eliminate shrinkage cracking in concrete, and reduce the number of joints in the slab. Applications include bridge decks, parking structures, slabs on grade, and containment tanks. KSC Komponent® should be strongly considered whenever Type-K Cement is specified in a project, as it is often a more cost-efficient option.
KSC Komponent® is NOT a shrinkage-reducing admixture (SRA). It is an expansive cement which when added to regular portland cement, produces ASTM C845 Type-K Cement. Typically, about 15% of the cement is replaced with Komponent® to meet the requirements of ASTM C845 Type-K Cement.
