KSC System-K™ - MSDS [Printable PDF]When incorporated into a concrete mix design, KSC Komponent® can reduce or eliminate shrinkage cracking in concrete, and reduce the number of joints in the slab. Applications include bridge decks, parking structures, slabs on grade, and containment tanks. KSC Komponent® should be strongly considered whenever KSC Type-K Cement is specified in a project, as it is often a more cost-efficient option.
CTS KSC Komponent® is NOT a shrinkage-reducing admixture (SRA). It is an expansive cement which when added to regular portland cement produces ASTM C845 KSC Type-K Cement. Typically, about 100 lbs. of KSC Komponent® are used per cubic yard of concrete to meet the requirements of ASTM C845 KSC Type-K Cement. Lesser amounts of KSC Komponent® can be used to produce low-shrinkage concrete.
