Materials and Supply Chain Manager

CTS Cement Manufacturing Corporation | Rapid Set® Products is North America’s largest manufacturer of specialty fast-setting cement and shrinkage compensating cement products. Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Materials and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the negotiating and purchasing of raw materials, supplies, equipment and services used by the company to support North America manufacturing. In addition, this position will develop, plan and execute sourcing strategy for assigned commodities; e.g. bags, boxes, chemicals, raw materials obtaining the most advantageous combination of price, quality, delivery, and other supplier services. Through sales analysis, forecasting, and monitoring inventory levels at CTS owned facilities, toll processing plants, and warehouses; maintain inventory levels to support products sell-through. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation and communication skills. Should understand the basic principles of Operational Excellence and be an agent of change to drive improvement across all levels of the CTS organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Track and report critical functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
  • Determine the quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Monitor and forecast future levels of demand of raw materials and finished goods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or other appropriate discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years buying, purchasing and/or procurement experience and price negotiation skills required along with inventory tracking and management.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
  • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense.
  • Working experience with vendor management software.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures.
  • Solid judgment along with decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.

Technical Service Representatives

Multiple Locations

We are looking for a self-starter with the ability and drive to establish and maintain account relationships while achieving sales and performance goals. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively without direct supervision and provide sales support and logistics in home improvement centers.

Position Responsibilities

  • Down-stock, maintain layout and organize product in bays at home improvement centers.
  • Install signage and build product displays.
  • Train store employees on the different products.
  • Deliver excellent customer service that ensures ongoing sales and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct presentations to prospective customers.
  • Interpret planograms and make changes as needed.
  • Remove and replace beams as needed for product reset.
  • Provide troubleshooting services as needed.
  • Make sales calls on potential users (contractors).

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Skilled in making presentations to potential customers
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds over head
  • Experience in sales of consumer/retail oriented product lines.
  • Experience and knowledge of the concrete industry.
  • Familiarity with building material products.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Big box retail experience is preferred but not required.

Technical Sales Engineer (Precast Concrete Specialist)

We seek a Technical Sales Engineer to market, sell and promote Rapid Set cement to the Precast Concrete Industry. Rapid Set cement concrete gains sufficient strength to remove forms in one hour and release pretension strands in two hours allowing increased production volume from existing precast facilities. This position is based in Cypress, CA, and reports to the VP of Engineering Sales.

 Responsibilities:

  • Work with existing national engineering sales staff
  • Represent the company within industry associations (e.g. PCI, ACI, NPCA)
  • Gather market information and identify potential customers
  • Develop and maintain a strong customer base
  • Resolve customer issues to maintain high levels of satisfaction
  • Ensure specification of our products with designers and specification writers
  • Create and deliver effective technical presentations to industry stakeholders
  • Demonstrate how our products meet client needs
  • Provide product education, technical assistance and after-sales support

  • Participate in the development of marketing plans, sales targets, budgets and forecasts

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years concrete industry professional outside sales experience
  • Technical knowledge and experience of cement products
  • Knowledge of the precast concrete industry
  • Strong track record of effective problem resolution and customer satisfaction

  • Self-starter who can work autonomously
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
