Concrete Leveler™

Concrete Leveler™: Quick-Setting, Self-Leveling Floor Underlayment If you’re looking for a high quality, fast-setting, self-leveling underlayment for your flooring needs, consider Concrete Leveler™.  It is ideal for new floor projects and repair products when you need long flow life and working time.  Concrete Leveler achieves high 24-hour strength and can be covered with finished flooring in 4 to 16 hours at 70˚F (21˚C), depending on the flooring type.  It can be used indoors and outdoors. Apply Concrete Leveler from featheredge to 1-inch thick, and up to 5-inches thick when extended with aggregate.  One 50-lb bag covers 24-30 square feet at ¼-inch thickness and 12-15 square feet at ½-inch thickness for flat surfaces.  Use Concrete Leveler™ Primer (CLP) to improve bond strength and adhesion

Uses

Used as a wear surface for foot traffic in 3 to 4 hours and rubber wheel traffic in 24 hours at 70˚F (21˚C). Concrete Leveler is not designed to be a permanent finished floor surface.

FAQs

Q: What is Concrete Leveler and what can it be used for?
A: Concrete Leveler is a self-leveling underlayment that can be used to fill low spots and correct unevenness prior to installing tile, carpet, or epoxy coatings.

Q: Does Concrete Leveler require a primer or bonding agent?
A: Yes. When Concrete Leveler is placed over a porous substrate trapped air in the substrate migrates to the surface causing pin holes and bubbles.  A primer seals the surface of the substrate, reducing or preventing pin holes. Primers can also reduce water loss into the substrate and increase adhesion.

Q: What type of primer should I use with Concrete Leveler?
A: Rapid Set® Concrete Leveler Primer has been specially formulated for best results with Concrete Leveler and is ideal for most applications.

Q: How should I mix Concrete Leveler® and can it be pumped?
A: Concrete Leveler can be mixed in buckets or barrels with a 650 rpm drill and “helix style” paddle mixer. A batch mixer and mortar pump can also be used.

Q: How thick can Concrete Leveler® be applied?
A: Concrete Leveler can be applied neat up to 1 inch thick or up to 5 inches if extended with pea gravel. Concrete Leveler can also be troweled to a feather-edge to match existing elevations.

Q: Is Concrete Leveler as fast as other Rapid Set products?
A: Concrete Leveler provides much more working time than typical Rapid Set products.  At 70°F, Concrete Leveler has a 15 minute flow life and can provide up to 30 minutes working time.

Q: Can Concrete Leveler be used as a finished floor?
A: Concrete Leveler can be used as a temporary wear surface accepting foot traffic in 3 to 4 hours and rubber wheel traffic in 24 hours but is not designed to be a permanent finished floor surface.

Q: How soon can I place my finished floor over Concrete Leveler?
A: In most cases, moisture insensitive flooring such as tile can be placed just 4 to 6 hours after placing Concrete Leveler. Moisture sensitive flooring such as epoxy or carpet can usually be placed in as little as 16 hours.
