DESCRIPTION: Rapid Set® FAST ANCHORING & REPAIR ADHESIVE is a two-component, structural epoxy. It is a high-strength, fast-curing, anchoring and repair adhesive designed to develop a strong, durable bond to concrete, masonry, and dissimilar building materials. The high-performance mechanical bond strength makes it suitable for use in a wide range of general construction, repair and maintenance projects.
USES: FAST ANCHORING & REPAIR ADHESIVE can be used on properly prepared concrete and masonry substrates and with other dissimilar building materials. It is ideal for anchoring bolts, dowels, rebar, and wall tiles to concrete, concrete blocks, solid and hollow masonry, natural stone, solid rock and other high strength substrates. Seek technical assistance when anchoring into porous or reconstituted stone. This bonded anchor is not intended for use as a cosmetic or decorative product. Due to the nature of the product, the resin may cause staining in certain materials. It is advisable to test the resin by applying it in a small, discrete area prior to using it on the project.
SURFACE PREPARATION: Ensure the substrate is clean, sound, dry and free of bond inhibitors, such as grease, oil, mold, coatings, sealers, or moisture. Do not install anchor in cracked, delaminated or weak substrates. Drill to the required diameter and depth with a roto-hammer or traditional drill and bit. Thoroughly remove all dust and debris from the application substrate.
APPLICATION: The minimum application temperature is 40ºF (4.5ºC) and rising. The maximum application temperature is 100ºF (38ºC). Cartridge must be conditioned to at least 50°F (10°C) before and during use. Ensure surface, personnel and equipment are ready before application. Remove screw top, pull out plastic plug, and screw the provided nozzle onto the mouth of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a quality extrusion gun with a minimum of 18:1 thrust ratio. Before placing the nozzle into the hole, extrude material until an even gray color without streaks flows out of the nozzle. Insert the nozzle to the bottom of the hole. Extrude resin and slowly withdraw the nozzle keeping the tip immersed in the resin. Ensure no air voids are created as the nozzle is withdrawn. Insert the anchor, which must be free of oil or other release agents, to the bottom of the hole using a twisting motion. Do not withdraw and re-insert, as doing so would create air voids. Excess resin must be expelled from the hole evenly around the anchor. Leave the anchor to cure. Do not disturb the anchor until the material is set. Clean any excess resin from around the hole. Recommended annular space is less than 1/8" (3.1 mm).
CURING: Tack-free in 15 minutes, service ready in 8 hours at 59°F to 72°F (15°C to 22°C).

COLD WEATHER: Installation in low temperatures will extend cure times of the Rapid Set® FAST ANCHORING & REPAIR ADHESIVE. To ease flow and placement in cold conditions, warm the adhesive above 50°F (10°C) for 24 hours prior to installation. Remove dew, frost or ice from the substrate with acetone on a clean cloth, then place adhesive immediately.
WARM WEATHER: Installation in warmer temperatures at 86°F (30°C) and above will not adversely affect adhesive performance. Warmer temperatures will decrease viscosity working/cure time.
CLEAN-UP: Clean up with acetone and disposable rags before it hardens on placement tools and surfaces. Dispose of waste material in compliance with local regulations.
PACKAGING: FAST ANCHORING & REPAIR ADHESIVE is available in a 8.5 fl. oz. (251 mL) cartridge.
SHELF LIFE: Fast Anchoring and Repair Adhesive has a shelf life of 18 months from the date of manufacture when properly stored.
STORAGE: Store in original, unopened container, the correct way up, in a cool, dry, area. Protect unopened container from water, heat and direct sunlight. Store at 41°F to 85°F (5°C to 29°C). Elevated temperatures will reduce shelf life.
LIMITATIONS: Not for use in cracked, delaminated or weak substrates. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has stated this product is approved for short-term loads only and should not be used in sustained tensile load adhesive anchoring applications or temperatures exceeding 122°F (49°C) where adhesive failure could result in a public safety risk. Consult a design professional prior to use. The design professional on the job is ultimately responsible for the interpretation of the data provided above.
USER RESPONSIBILITY: Before using, read current technical data sheets, bulletins, product labels and safety data sheets. It is the user’s responsibility to review the instructions and warnings for any CTS products prior to use. Wear chemical resistant gloves and protect eyes and skin during use. Do not attempt to force adhesive out of a hardened mixing nozzle. Use a new mixer nozzle to avoid rupturing the container. If a leak should develop, discontinue use immediately and use a new cartridge. While all reasonable care is taken in compiling technical data on the company’s products, all recommendations or suggestions regarding the use of such products are made without guarantee, since the conditions of use are beyond the control of the company. It is the responsibility of the customer to confirm that the product is fit for the purpose for which it is intended to be used.
WARNING: AVOID CONTACT WITH SKIN AND EYES. Do not breathe vapors. Use product in well ventilated areas. Forced local exhaust is recommended to effectively minimize exposure. NIOSH approved, organic vapor respirators are recommended in confined areas, or when conditions (such as heated polymer, sanding) may cause high vapor concentrations. Do not weld on, burn, or torch any epoxy material. Hazardous vapor is released when an epoxy is burned. For additional information, refer to the precautionary statement on the Safety Data Sheet.
