Q: What is Rapid Set® DOT Cement?
A: Rapid Set® DOT Cement is a specially formulated blend of Rapid Set® Cement and high performance additives. Rapid Set DOTCement is formulated for long life in freeze-thaw regions.
Q: How is Rapid Set DOT Cement mixed?
A: Mix Rapid Set DOT Cement with washed concrete sand and stone (ASTM C33 grade) at a 1-2-2 ratio to produce a durable concrete. Working time is approximately 20 minutes at 70°F.
Q: Is it a modified portland cement product?
A: No. The high-performance properties come from the Rapid Set Cement in the mix.
Q: How thick can I apply Rapid Set DOT Cement concrete?
A: DOT Cement concrete can be applied from 1/2″ to 24″ in the 1-2-2 ratio washed concrete, sand and stone concrete mix design.
Q: How do I cure Rapid Set DOT Cement concrete?
A: Water cure all DOT Cement concrete installations by keeping exposed surfaces wet for a minimum of 1 hour. Begin curing as soon as the surface starts to lose its moist sheen. When experiencing extended setting time due to cold temperature or the use of retarder, longer curing times may be required. The objective of water curing shall be to maintain a continuously wet surface until the product has achieved sufficient strength.
