Materials and Supply Chain Manager

Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, the Materials and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the negotiating and purchasing of raw materials, supplies, equipment and services used by the company to support North America manufacturing. In addition, this position will develop, plan and execute sourcing strategy for assigned commodities; e.g. bags, boxes, chemicals, raw materials obtaining the most advantageous combination of price, quality, delivery, and other supplier services. Through sales analysis, forecasting, and monitoring inventory levels at CTS owned facilities, toll processing plants, and warehouses; maintain inventory levels to support products sell-through. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation and communication skills. Should understand the basic principles of Operational Excellence and be an agent of change to drive improvement across all levels of the CTS organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Track and report critical functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
  • Determine the quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Monitor and forecast future levels of demand of raw materials and finished goods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or other appropriate discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years buying, purchasing and/or procurement experience and price negotiation skills required along with inventory tracking and management.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
  • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense.
  • Working experience with vendor management software.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures.
  • Solid judgment along with decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
