CR Concrete Resurfacer

Use CR Concrete Resurfacer, an advanced hydraulic cement-based mortar, to resurface damaged or discolored concrete. CR CONCRETE RESURFACER, when applied in thicknesses from 1/32 inch to ½ inch (0.08 to 1.27 cm), has a working time of up to 30 minutes, and produces a smooth and durable surface that is able to receive foot traffic in as little as 2-3 hours. Using cutting-edge self-curing technology (SCT), CR does not need to be wet cured in most applications. It has been specially formulated to match the color of typical portland cement concrete, and can be used for both interior and exterior applications. One 25-lb bag yields approximately 0.22 cubic feet. Coverage at 1/8 inch is approximately 21.1 square feet.

The Datasheet explains the performance and technical characteristics of Rapid Set® CR Concrete Resurfacer.  It also shows how to use CR Concrete Resurfacer (i.e. surface preparation, mixing, placement and curing).

The Spanish datasheet is also available here.

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) outlines information and procedures for handling and working with Rapid Set® CR Concrete Resurfacer.  It includes physical and chemical property information, potential hazards, emergency procedures and CTS’s contact information.

The Specification gives a detailed statement explaining the type of jobs to specify Rapid Set® CR Concrete Resurfacer for, the scope of work, thicknesses, performance requirements and usage.

Standard Practices

Q: What is Rapid Set Concrete Resurfacer

A: Rapid Set Concrete Resurfacer is an advanced hydraulic cement-based mortar that can be used both indoors and outdoors to resurface worn or old concrete.

Q: What color does Rapid Set Concrete Resurfacer cure into?

A: Rapid Set Concrete Resurfacer has been specially formulated to match the color of typical Portland cement concrete, which is a light gray.

Q: Is this a modified Portland cement product?

A: No, the high performance properties are based on Rapid Set Cement Technology.

Q: Is priming necessary?

A: Priming is not required, but we recommend using our Rapid Set Acrylic Primer on porous substrates to minimize the formation of pinholes.

Q: How quickly can I walk on the material?

A: There are many variables, but generally we suggest waiting two to three hours before foot traffic.

Q: How do I cure Rapid Set Concrete Resurfacer

A: Under moderate conditions, Rapid Set Concrete Resurfacer can be left to air cure. In dry, windy or hot conditions, mist with water to maintain a continuously wet surface until the product has achieved sufficient strength.
