FLOW Control®

Rapid Set® FLOW Control®: Slows Down the Setting Time

For projects requiring increased mix flow, FLOW Control® is your answer. Use with Rapid Set® cement products and most other packaged hydraulic cements, FLOW Control works in two ways. First, adding FLOW to your mix significantly increases the fluidity of your mixture. Second, FLOW increases the strength and reduces the shrinkage of your mixture when using FLOW as a replacement for mixing water. With FLOW, the same working consistency (or slump) may be produced with approximately 20 to 40 percent less mixing water.

Standard Practices

Q: What is FLOW Control®?
A:
It is an additive that increases the fluidity of your mix. It makes your mix more flowable without the addition of more water. The reduced mix water also increases the strength of your mix.

Q: How much is in a packet?
A:
Each packet contains 60 grams (2.12 ounces).

Q: How much do I need to use?
A:
1 to 2 packets per 55 to 60 lb. bag of Rapid Set® product will produce a very fluid almost self-leveling wet mix. Add up to 4 packets per bag.

Q: How do I add it to my mix?
A:
In 70° degree or warmer applications, add the FLOW Control to your mix water first. In colder conditions, add the Flow Control to your mixture once you have combined your Rapid Set® product and mix water.

Q: Can I use it with other additives?
A:
It can be used with with other Rapid Set® Concrete Pharmacy® items or certain approved additives.

Q: Can I add it to other portland cement products?
A:
Blending with other hydraulic cement products will increase fluidity, but a trial batch is always recommended to fine-tune your dosage and mix procedure.
