GARDEN GROVE, Calif. – CTS Cement Manufacturing Corp., manufacturer of Rapid Set® professional-grade cement products, announces Rapid Set® Asphalt Resurfacer, a high-performance, fast-setting, multipurpose, cementitious material for asphalt repair. It provides superior adhesion to asphalt surfaces and higher durability than conventional asphalt.
“Rapid Set® Asphalt Resurfacer provides a way to quickly resurface existing asphalt pavement, allowing traffic to quickly return to service,” says Vice President of Product Development Matt Sambol.
Applications
Rapid Set® Asphalt Resurfacer has been specially formulated with a polymer-modified blend of Rapid Set® Cement and additives designed to match the color of typical existing asphalt. When Asphalt Resurfacer is combined with water, it produces a high-quality repair material that is ideal for any asphalt repairs and resurfacing. It has superior adhesion to most substrates, a working time of 20 minutes, and achieves drive-on strength in 90 minutes.
Additionally, it can reduce your carbon footprint and lower your environmental impact.
“Asphalt Resurfacer contains environmentally friendly post-consumer recycled material and has zero grams per liter (g/l) of volatile organic compounds (VOCs),” says Sambol. “Moreover, it can be used extensively on driveways, parking lots, roads, spall repairs, cracks, potholes, and more.”
Placement
Rapid Set® Asphalt Resurfacer can be applied in thicknesses from ¼-inch (0.6 cm) to 2 inches (5 cm). For thicker applications, extend Asphalt Resurfacer up to 75% by weight with clean, coarse aggregate up to ¾-inch (1.9 cm) or use Rapid Set® Asphalt Repair Mix, which contains aggregate. Extended Asphalt Resurfacer can be applied in thicknesses up to 24 inches (61 cm). Easy-to-use Asphalt Resurfacer is fast-setting and allows drive-on in 90 minutes.
