Low-P Repair Mortar is a specialty mortar that produces a low permeable, ASR resistant, corrosion resistant, fast setting concrete repair material that allows for early opening to traffic
Low-P Repair Mortar can be mixed neat or extended with a coarse aggregate. This allows the user flexibility to repair thin to thick horizontal applications with one product by simply choosing to use neat or extending with an aggregate. Low-P Repair Mortar is sulfate resistant, ASR resistant, and freeze thaw resistant.
No. The high-performance properties come from the Rapid Set cement technology.
In most applications, bonding agents are not required. Please follow surface preparation recommendations on Rapid Set products technical datasheets. If a bonding agent is required because these conditions cannot be met, or if the use of bonding agents is mandated, follow the bonding agent manufacturerӳ recommendation for installation. Rapid Set Cement All and Mortar Mix have been successfully applied in conjunction with a wide variety of surface applied bonding agents, including epoxy systems. Selection and suitability of the bonding agent is the responsibility of the specifier and/or the installer.
Blending with other products may give unpredictable results and is not recommended. The use of Rapid Set approved additives and various colors are acceptable.
Up to 6 inches neat and up to 24 inches extended with coarse aggregates.
Just add water to use as a grout or thin repair. If extending with a coarse aggregate, mix in aggregates last. The use of a mechanical mixer such as a mortar mixer or a drill mounted mixer (egg beater type) is recommended. To maximize working time, organize work so that all people and equipment are in place before mixing.
Use Rapid Set SET Control admixture to extend the set times. Later age strengths are not affected.
Fill to full depth and proceed horizontally. Do NOT place in layers that allow setting to occur between lifts. Use traditional finishing tools and methods. Low-P Repair Mortar is fast setting and does not bleed water, so apply your final finish immediately after placing. Cover and wet cure for an hour.
Water curing Low-P Repair Mortar installations is recommended. The objective of water curing is to maintain a wet surface until the material has gained moderate tensile strength. Begin water curing as soon as the surface has lost its moist sheen and continue for a minimum of one hour. As an alternative to water curing, curing compounds that meet ASTM C-309 Type II Class B may be used. Apply these curing compounds in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
