Rapid Set V/O Repair Mix (Vertical/Overhead Repair Mix) is a high performance, polymer-modified, fiber-reinforced, blend of cement with additives and specially graded fine aggregate. Combine V/O Repair Mix with water to produce a high-quality repair material ideal for areas where rapid strength gain, high durability, and low shrinkage are desired.
Use V/O Repair Mix for general concrete repair, including vertical and/or overhead applications, or small spot repairs.
V/O Repair Mix cures to a light grey color that matches most portland cement concrete.
No, the high-performance properties are solely based on Rapid Set Cement technology.
In most applications, bonding agents are not required. Please follow surface preparation recommendations on Rapid Set products technical datasheets. If a bonding agent is required because these conditions cannot be met, or if the use of bonding agents is mandated, follow the bonding agent manufacturers recommendation for installation. Rapid Set products have been successfully applied in conjunction with a wide variety of surface applied bonding agents, including epoxy systems. Selection and suitability of the bonding agent is the responsibility of the specifier and/or the installer.
Yes, V/O Repair Mix contains an integral corrosion inhibitor to increase protection of embedded reinforcement.
Blending with other products may give unpredictable results and is not recommended. The use of Rapid Set approved additives and colors are acceptable.
For overhead applications, V/O Repair Mix can be applied in thicknesses from 1/32" to 2" (0.1 to 5.1 cm). For vertical applications and small spot repairs, thicknesses up to 6" (15.2 cm) are acceptable.
One bag of V/O Repair Mix yields approximately 0.37 cubic feet. This is equivalent to one square foot, 4.5 inches deep.
Surface must be clean, sound, and free of oil, curing compound, dust, mastic, and/or other bond-breakers. Surface shall be prepared to a minimum profile of ICRI CSP 3. Mechanically abrade surface and remove all unsound material. Apply V/O Repair Mix to a thoroughly saturated surface with no standing water.
Just add water. The use of a mechanical mixer such as a mortar mixer or drill-mounted mixer is recommended. To maximize working time, organize work so that all personnel and equipment are in place before mixing.
V/O Repair Mix may be placed using traditional methods. Place and consolidate quickly to allow for maximum finishing time. Do not wait for bleed water; apply final finish as soon as possible. V/O Repair Mix may be troweled, floated, shaved, or broom finished. Do not install on frozen surfaces.
V/O Repair Mix does not require water curing or curing compound under moderate conditions at 70 degrees (21у). However, in excessively dry, windy, or hot conditions, mist with water to maintain a continuously wet surface until the product has achieved sufficient strength.
