The National Basketball Association (NBA) is North America's premier professional basketball league. With 30 teams, the NBA is considered one of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada.

The massive league is run through headquarters located in the Olympic Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York City. When 25,000 square feet of floor space was being replaced during an office retrofit, Abbruzzese Floors recommended Rapid Set® self-leveling flooring products produced by CTS Cement Manufacturing Corp. Rapid Set® TRU® PC Gray cementitious architectural topping simulates polished concrete after grinding and polishing to expose the integral aggregate – hence, the “PC” in the product’s name.

A significant advantage of TRU® PC is that it can be ground wet or dry and polished in 24 hours to provide outstanding clarity and gloss.

Installation began by coating the substrate with Rapid Set® TXP™ Fast, a two-component, alkali-resistant epoxy primer designed for use with TRU® flooring products. The primer’s formulation provides excellent wetting capabilities to promote penetration and adhesion, and is ready for overlayment in four to six hours.

TRU® PC was mixed in a Portamix Hippo mixer, placed, and finished with a spiked roller. Ultimately, the project consumed 2,000 bags.
